Keep drinking chemical- and odor-free water with a new PUR water filter. This pack of three replacement filters fits PUR’s Ultimate Water Filtration Dispenser and Pitcher. They reduce cadmium, cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, mercury, asbestos, copper, zinc, and sediment 96 to 99.99 percent; plus lessen chlorine levels and discoloration. PUR’s filters are made with activated carbon to reduce chlorine and sediment, and include an ion-exchange resin that helps eliminate lead and copper. For best results, filters should be changed every 40 gallons. While PUR filters rid water of many chemicals, coloration, and bad flavors, they do not soften water or remove fluoride. I will be purchasing a pitcher and refills for them soon.The indicator doesn't help much. Both my grandsons enjoy too. I use my calendar for ordering reminders. 2-3 years and I wish I had bought this sooner. Water tastes better and I am a nut for icy cold water that actually tastes good.
Living in FL has lots of advantages but the taste of the water is not one of them. Great item for those who use the pitcher regularly. Water now really DOES taste "Pur" What a bargain. Even ON SALE in a store, I couldn't beat this price.
What more can you ask for. No sales tax, free shipping and $5 less than Walmart.
It also looks like PUR filters out more stuff than Brita does. Because of this, if I continue with the PUR filters over Brita I'll be replacing them monthly or even every three weeks. This is a good filter, and in general the PUR pitchers are superior to Brita because they don't allow water in the top chamber to spill out if you try to pour water while it's still filtering. This is a good thing because, after only a couple weeks of use, it gets so slow that it can take over an hour to filter one re-fill of water.
Now there is no indicator, which i didn't notice until i got them. I love having my PUR water pitcher. Maybe this is geared toward pitchers with integral indicators but mine does not have one. Most filters have indicators so i don't think this redesign makes sense. I hate the taste of tap water and these filters make a big difference. My previous filter cartridges had an indicator that the top to show when the filter needs to be replaced.
